The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, is convinced that the supply of the Armed Forces F-16 fighters and other weapons is the best security guarantee for Ukraine in the short term.
IN interview Kuleba told journalist Vadym Karpiak that the NATO summit in Vilnius on July 11-12 will be a step towards Ukraine’s membership in the Alliance and will resolve the issue of security guarantees.
“In the short term, of course, the best guarantee of our security is the acceleration of the supply of weapons and ammunition, a strong acceleration and a positive decision to provide Ukraine with F-16 aircraft,” Kuleba noted.
According to him, the issue of guarantees is about a comprehensive solution to the problem.
According to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov, a positive decision regarding transfer of aviation to Ukraine is a matter of one or two months.
On March 20, Air Force Commanders of Ukraine Serhiy Golubtsov said that Ukrainian pilots will be able to learn how to fly the F-16 in less than six months.
