In the message saidthat indisputable evidence of the guilt of the FSB informant, who operated in the front-line areas in the south of Ukraine, was collected, in particular, corrected rocket strikes on Mykolaiv by Russian “Caliber” cruise missiles.
The SBU notes that he also collected information about the locations of bases and movements of units of the Defense Forces in the territory of the region, first of all, he tried to identify the combat positions of artillery and air defense systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The correctional officer, a resident of Mykolaiv, was detained at the beginning of August last year during counter-subversive measures in the Mykolaiv region. At the beginning of the summer of 2022, the Russian special service involved him in secret cooperation through a representative of the “MDB of the DNR”.
He came into the enemy’s field of vision on one of the pro-Kremlin Telegram channels, where he regularly justified Russian armed aggression against Ukraine. During the search, a mobile phone was found in the attacker’s possession, which he used to communicate with the occupiers.
The SBU notes that the court found him guilty under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- Part 3 of Art. 114-2 (unauthorized dissemination of information about the transfer, transfer of weapons, armaments and military supplies to Ukraine, movement, transfer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other military formations formed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, committed under martial law);
- part 2 and part 3 of Art. 436-2 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
In the Office of the Prosecutor General point out, that in July 2022, the man, being an active member of the pro-Russian Telegram channel, spread information about the location of the combat positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the city several times. At the same time, the proofreader noted specific coordinates. In addition, in personal correspondence with acquaintances, he distributed posts about supporting the actions of the Russian military on the territory of Ukraine.
The message says that the guilty verdict was handed down by the Factory District Court of the city of Mykolaiv. The verdict has not yet entered into legal force, as there is time for its appeal.
