More than 100 Russian soldiers are believed to have disappeared in the Luhansk region after refusing to sign contracts with the Russian mercenary group Wagner. This was reported by Astra, which spoke to several relatives of the soldiers.
According to the report, the soldiers were first gathered on the territory of Russia. They were told that they would be sent to the Rostov Region for training. Instead, they were taken to the Ukrainian Luhansk region. There their “sold like cattle” to the “Wagner” group, the report says.
«My husband and his comrades in the service were to be taken by a military cargo plane Il-76MD to Rostov-on-Don to a field camp. They were sent on three planes, each of which had 170 people“, said the wife of the missing Russian occupier.
According to her, none of the commanders accompanied them when they were taken away. The mobilized Russians were loaded into trucks and taken to the training ground. They crossed the border at night.
In a telephone conversation with Russian relatives, another soldier reported: “They are already leading us at gunpoint, that’s all“. According to him, about 30 representatives of the “Wagner” mercenary group came. He also warned that people with guns had threatened to take the soldiers’ phones.
According to him, members of Wagner’s group eventually forced the soldiers to sign the contracts. According to the report, they were to form a unit called “Wolves”. After some of the soldiers refused to sign the contract, communication with them was interrupted.
