In the Russian city of Belgorod, bordering Ukraine, on the evening of April 20, an explosion occurred, as a result of which a huge crater formed on one of the streets of the city. Photos and videos are posted on social media. Local authorities have called it an “emergency” but have yet to say exactly what happened.
“An emergency in Belgorod. An explosion occurred. A huge funnel with a radius of 20 meters formed at the intersection of one of the central streets,” wrote Governor of the Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov.
According to him, there were no casualties, but windows in an apartment building were damaged, several parked cars were damaged by the blast wave, and power lines were knocked down.
