Ukraine hopes to receive an invitation to NATO at the Alliance summit in Vilnius.
Ukraine did everything to ensure that our request was satisfied. About this said president Volodymyr Zelenskyi in the evening address.
“Neither the majority of Ukrainians, nor the majority of Europeans, nor the majority of the inhabitants of the entire NATO space will understand the leaders of the Alliance, if a well-deserved political invitation for Ukraine to the Alliance is not issued at this summit in Vilnius. Ukraine did everything to ensure that our request was satisfied. It is even difficult to say whose contribution to European Euro-Atlantic security is greater than our soldiers… Ukrainian men and women who defend freedom with their lives. Thank you to all partners who support us in this,” said Zelenskyy.
Zelensky talked about the negotiations with the head of NATO Jens Stoltenberg on the eve of Ramstein. The negotiations were devoted to the protection of Ukraine and the entire international order based on rules. “And Mr. Stoltenberg’s position is important,” the president emphasized.
He reminded that the NATO summit is scheduled for the summer of this year. “But its content is already being worked out at precisely such meetings, in contacts of various levels that we conduct with our partners,” the president emphasized.
