On the night of May 19-20, a downed enemy drone hit the roof of a capital high-rise building. He detonated directly above the bedroom where the owner of the apartment was. The woman miraculously survived. This is what she is about told in an interview “Evening Kyiv” publication.
«At that moment I was asleep and did not hear the air alarm. And then an explosion, followed by another. Then parts of the roof and glass from two skylights above the bed started falling on me.”– remembers Yulia Bezkorovaina, the owner of the destroyed house.

The woman quickly went down to the first level of the apartment and hastily took her passport, money, got dressed and ran outside. First of all, she reflexively turned off the electricity meter and locked the door with the key.
She did all this to the screams outside the window: the neighbors echoed with each other: “The roof is on fire! Upper floors, come down!».
There are four more apartments next to Julia’s apartment. Fortunately, the neighbors also managed to get outside.
«And then I stood below and watched my apartment burn“, the woman sighs.
It took rescuers about two hours to extinguish the fire in the apartment. At that time, below, near the house, volunteers of the Red Cross Society set up a tent, where they poured hot tea for the residents and, if necessary, provided medical assistance.
Due to the fact that the drone detonated on the roof, almost every apartment was flooded after extinguishing. For example, the roof of Alexandra, who also lives on the ninth floor, collapsed due to water pressure. And water poured out of Julia’s apartment for at least half an hour.
«95% of the property in the apartment burned and was damaged, she sighs. — In recent days, various expert commissions have come, but I still do not have a single document about property damage. For now, I am very much waiting for representatives from the KMDA, who have already restored many apartments damaged as a result of the war“, says the owner.
The residents of the house are asking the capital authorities to help restore the roof, because even with little rainfall, the apartment floods with water.
«The roof of two houses is partially destroyed: ours and the neighboring one. The exact area of the destruction is currently unknown, the amount of damage will be established based on the results of an expert study. However, the awning, which was temporarily pulled up by ZHEK, will not save from strong wind or rain“, the woman explains.
Active residents of the residential complex have prepared all the information about that tragic night — photos, videos and planning of the house for restoration. They are waiting for specialists from the KMDA to conduct an examination in each apartment, repair the damage and help them return to their usual lives.
