Russia from the beginning of a full-scale invasion lost 205,720 soldiers, 460 people in the last day, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The General Staff also provided data on Russia’s losses in military equipment:
- 3,796 tanks (+1 in the last day)
- 7,435 armored fighting vehicles (+3)
- 3,384 artillery systems (+25)
- 570 rocket launcher systems
- 328 means of air defense (+1)
- 310 aircraft (+1)
- 296 helicopters
- 2,910 drones of the operational-tactical level (+3)
- 1,015 cruise missiles
- 18 ships
- 6,161 cars and tankers (+13)
- 446 units of special equipment (+2)
Russia does not report official data on its dead and other losses regularly. The Russian Ministry of Defense last reported losses on September 21, 2022, reporting about the death of 5937 people.
On May 1, White House National Security Spokesman John Kirby reported that the Russian military over the past five months war against Ukraine in battles in the area Baḫmut and other regions of Ukraine suffered losses of 100,000 people. According to him, this figure, based on US intelligence estimates, includes more than 20,000 dead, half of whom are mercenaries of the “Wagner” PMC.

Ukraine also does not disclose data on its losses. In March, the American newspaper The Washington Post, citing unnamed American and European officials, wrote that Ukraine’s losses in the war allegedly amounted to 120,000 dead and wounded soldiers. Secretary of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Roman Kostenko called these data are exaggerated.
