Vintage Autumn Market Update
Visit Christchurch’s largest indoor vintage market from 10am to 3pm on Sunday at the New Zealand Air Force Museum! It’s a little Portobello Market, a little French Flea Market, and a little car boot sale.
This lively vintage market has something for everyone! Come browse and find your treasure among the stalls’ ever-changing offerings.
Make your own pot holders at Tūranga
Head to the Turanga Library on Saturday to learn sewing basics and make plant stands! You will learn fun, simple and bright ideas for reusing any material you have around the house.
This event will be held in the morning from 10:30 a.m. to noon or in the afternoon from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Reservations are required for these sessions and all items and materials are provided for a $10 fee.

Plot status: William Weka comes from the Alps
Join author Kinsa Hayes to hear Wiremu Weka’s highly intelligent bird take on adventures of all shapes and sizes! Wiremu pursues stolen treasures, climbs aboard the famous TranzAlpine express train and crosses the Southern Alps.
This interactive story is a fun event for all ages! Head to Tūranga on Saturday from 2pm to take part.
Te Ara Kākāriki, Tai Tapu Indigenous Plantation
Join us for Planting Day at Tai Tapa this Sunday from 10am to 2pm! Since 2018 we have planted around 5,000 plants on this site, creating a great springboard for birds to descend into the valley from the Port Hills.
Shovels, gloves, hammers, instructions and morning tea will be provided! Register for this planting day or visit our website to find out about all our events this year.
Southern Smashup 2023 – Roller Derby Event
Back for its second year, Southern Smashup is the ultimate roller derby one-day event! Organized by Dead End Derby, this event runs from 10am to 8pm on Saturday at the Pioneer Rec and Sport Centre.
There will be six derby games throughout the day, starting with a four-game mixed scrimmage. Plus, there will be a Junior Roller Derby game to showcase young skaters 18 and under! Admission at the door starts at $2, more here.
