The presentation took place as part of the WWDC 2023 event, which this year takes place from June 5 to 9.
A line of Apple laptops Macbook Air was previously available in only two sizes: 11 inches (from 2010 to 2015) and 13-in. However, now the company has decided to release a model with a diagonal of 15 inches. There have been no major changes in design or hardware.
The third generation of Apple Silicon processors, based on a 3-nanometer process, is not yet ready for release. According to sources, the Apple M3 chip is expected to be introduced no earlier than the end of this year.
The current novelty is based on the M2 chip.
High-end features such as ProMotion with a screen refresh rate of 120 Hz will remain exclusive to the MacBook Pro series. But the battery will be more capacious, which together with the large display determined the price of the gadget at $1,299.
It will be possible to order it from Monday.
