«The driver of this bus insulted me today. Friday. June 2. Around the 16th day. Me as the mother of a fallen soldier. If he had simply said: “I sympathize with you, but I’m sorry, I have all the privileged places taken”, this post would not have existed. Whenever I heard in the back of my head: “You got divorced here…” Did we, burned-out widows and disconsolate mothers, get divorced?”, Marchuk wrote.
The woman calmly responded to the driver’s rudeness and noted that none of the passengers stood up for her: “I couldn’t resist, I said: “I would have gone, but I fought…” But this, obviously, fell on deaf ears. The passenger audience sits motionless. No one even mur-mur,” Lyudmila said.
The journalist added that she very rarely uses the discount precisely because of the contemptuous attitude of the drivers and noted that she paid the fare.
«I paid the money for the trip. But as it came out, I decided to take a photo as a memory. Because this disrespect did not only concern me <...> This is the first time I have had such an incident. However, I have observed many cases of drivers insulting people of retirement age. It is wrong. This is not your own transport, uncle driving! Once the state introduced the benefit into the legislative norm, then implement it! You are at work. I confess that only because of this contempt I never ride a minibus as a pensioner. I get my ticket only on the trolleybus… The certificate of the mother of the deceased is another new, recently issued benefit. It would be better not to have her. And my child was alive. But it is. So it happened. And we can’t change anything,” Marchuk said.
As informs edition of Rivne.media, the minibus driver is summoned to the transport and communications department of Rivne.
«There are no words in this world to apologize to such people. I warned carriers about transportation and service provision, this is the second incident while I am the head of the transport commission. How to deal with such inhumans. There will be more,” said city council member Kateryna Marchuk.
