The youngest presidential candidate USA 2024 Republican Vivek Ramasawamy said the US must achieve «major concessions” from Ukraine to end the war.
It is reported ABC.
«The job of the president of the United States is to look after American interests,” he said.
According to him, Ukraine is “not the main priority of foreign policy.”
«I don’t think it is better for Russia to be able to invade a sovereign country that is its neighbor. But…I think the No. 1 threat to the U.S. military right now, our primary military threat, is the Sino-Russian alliance. I think that by continuing to fight in Russia, by arming Ukraine, we are handing Russia over to China,” he said.
Ramaswamy said that «will end this war” if Putin ends his country’s alliance with China.
Responding to the presenter’s remark that he had previously stated that he would like to give the occupied Donbas to Putin, and this could be a gift for the Russian dictator, the politician stated:
«I don’t trust Putin, but I trust Putin to follow his own interests,” Ramaswamy said.
Ramaswamy’s stance on Ukraine and Russia puts him in a minority among politicians, with leading Republicans and Democrats saying Russia’s invasion must not succeed to maintain stability in Europe.
