New Zealand’s civil aviation authority is asking the national airline to weigh passengers departing on international flights from Auckland Airport by July 2, 2023.
He tells about it Ukrinform with reference to CNN.
The program, which Air New Zealand calls the Passenger Weight Survey, is a way to collect data on weight and weight distribution on planes, the airline said.
“We weigh everything that is on the plane – from cargo to food on board and to luggage in the baggage compartment. For customers, crew members and carry-on baggage, we use the average weight that we obtain during this study,” said in a statement Alastair Jamesthe airline’s specialist in improving load control.
To protect the privacy of people who don’t want to reveal their weight, the airline says it has anonymized the data.
During check-in, travelers will be asked to step on a digital scale. Their weight information is sent to the system but not displayed on the agent’s screen.
People’s luggage will be placed on other similar scales for separate weighing.
