In Novaya Kakhovka, which was temporarily captured by the Russians, water no longer arrives.
The city was the first to feel the consequences of the Russians blowing up the Kakhovskaya HPP dam. The head of the Novokakhov community told about this on the air of the national telethon Volodymyr Kovalenkoconveys Gazeta.ua.
According to him, at this time Dniprovskyi Avenue, Historichna Street are flooded, and some of the water reaches Heroiv Ukrainy Street.
“The flooded Workers’ Village is the private sector and the district of the 6th school. We are waiting for the water to recede and will see what the consequences are,” said Kovalenko.
The occupation authorities did not organize the evacuation of people. Local residents left flooded areas on their own. And the Russian troops, due to the flooding of the territories close to the river, retreated deep into the city.
“These are the ones that were in the trenches along the river. They moved to the depths of the city. Yesterday there were many of them on the third street from the Dnipro and they took away a lot of technical equipment, cars. They took all the household appliances from the former boarding house,” Kovalenko added.
On the night of June 6 the Russian occupiers blew up Kakhovskaya HPP. Rapid flooding of coastal settlements and parts of Kherson began. Urgent evacuation has been announced in the region.
By blowing up the Kakhovskaya HPP, Russian terrorists once again proved that they are a threat to all living things. Russia is absolutely conscious destroyed one of the largest reservoirs of Ukraine. The president emphasized this Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
