49-year-old specialist Sergey Rebrov became the new head coach of the national football team of Ukraine.
This was announced by UAF president Andriy Pavelko during the course press conferenceswhich takes place in the House of Football.
“First of all, I want to thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine for protecting our independence, for allowing us to talk about football, and for holding our championship of Ukraine.
I personally and all Ukrainians will continue to help the Armed Forces and our people who suffered from racist aggression.
I am personally very happy to return to Ukraine. My family is coming back too. I am very glad that my wife accepted my decision that way,” Rebrov said at a press conference.
It is reported that Serhii Rebrov has signed a contract with the Ukrainian national team until the summer of 2024 with the possibility of extending the agreement until 2026.
Rebrov confirmed that his coaching staff in the national team will include: Vicente Gomez (responsible for tactics), Alberto Bosch (opponent analysis), Glib Platov (scouting, analytics), Javier Lurueña Lobo (physical training) and Rustam Khudzhamov (goalkeeping coach) ).

Rebrov will make his debut as head coach of the Ukrainian national team on June 12 friendly match against the German national team. Then the “blue and yellow” will play two more matches as part of the selection for Euro-2024: against North Macedonia (June 16) and against Malta (June 19).
