The construction of a new hydroelectric power station after the Russians blew up the Kakhovskaya HPP may cost about 1 billion dollars.

“The price of building a new hydroelectric power station can cost about $1 billion, as it is not only about installing new hydro units, but about restoring the integrity of a huge dam,” First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy Yuliya Svyridenko noted.
She added that it will take at least five years to restore the dam alone, and the cumulative effect of the humanitarian and environmental consequences of the detonation will only grow.
According to preliminary calculations by the Ministry of Environment and the State Environmental Inspection, damage to water resources has been caused by UAH 2 billion, this amount will only grow.
