SBU detained another Russian agent, who spied on the combat aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
The attacker collected intelligence for the Russian occupiers about the types and number of combat aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as their bases and flight directions, reported in the special service.
He also gave the invaders the locations of the military commissars and tried to identify the railway lines used to supply ammunition to the front.
For each completed task, the Russian agent received up to UAH 4,000 from his “curator” from the FSB. For the conspiracy, money was transferred to the traitor using a cryptocurrency electronic wallet.
Intelligence information was needed by the aggressor to prepare a series of airstrikes on the territory of the region, primarily to hit strategically important objects.
Counterintelligence officers of the Security Service exposed and detained the intruder.
According to the investigation, the suspect is a local resident who was recruited by an FSB personnel officer in July 2022.
The man came to the attention of the Russian special services through one of the Russian Telegram bots, where he periodically posted photos of the positions of the Ukrainian troops.
In the future, he maintained contact with the aggressor through a messenger. To carry out reconnaissance, he went to the area, where he secretly observed objects, and also asked people for the information he needed.
During the search of the suspect’s place of residence, a mobile phone and a tablet were found, which he used to communicate with the FSB.
