They gave away all the weapons that just arrived: Zelenskyi on the defense of Bakhmut

To defend Bakhmut, Ukraine gave its military all the weapons it received from Western partners, including long-range Storm shadow missiles and high-precision Excalibur projectiles. About this told President Volodymyr Zelenskyi on June 6 during a conversation with the media on the occasion of Journalist’s Day.

“I think it was the most powerful defense that could have been planned. Because everyone understood that Bakhmut would hold a large number of troops. For me, the people who were in Bakhmut are superhumans. And everything that came to us, we gave it there: “Storm Shadow”, 155-caliber artillery, “Escaliburs”, “Caesars”, “Highmars”, – the head of state is quoted by his press service.

At the same time, Volodymyr Zelenskyy added that it was simply impossible to “fortify” Bakhmut, because every day the Russian occupiers “covered” it with 50,000 artillery shells and thus actually turned the city into solid ruins.

“What can be done with a building where artillery is constantly flying? It is necessary to get people out of such a building so as not to lose them. The entrances to the city are being strengthened. Bakhmut was not prepared for a full-scale war. This is one city. But such forces met there, and it was clear that it would take on the function of a magnet,” he said.

The president also added that approximately 20,000 Wagnerites were killed in Bakhmut and the surrounding area, and another 60,000 mercenaries of this PMK were injured.

We will remind, on May 19, the Armed Forces announced that seize the initiative in the Bakhmut direction and are trying to counterattack the Rashists. For his part, the commander of the Ground Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi reported about advancing on the flanks in the suburbs of Bakhmut and the fact that the Armed Forces are approaching the capture of the city in a tactical encirclement.

The founder of the “Wagner” PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin announced the withdrawal of his mercenaries from Bakhmut by June 1. Instead, Russia brings its paratroopers and motorized rifle units there. The Ukrainian military, using the opportunity, hit the “Wagners”, when they leave the city.

Neither the General Staff, nor the Ministry of Defense, nor the president comment in detail on the course of events in the Bakhmut direction, but they say that the Defense Forces of Ukraine and have success here in the futureand rashisti lose their positions.

According to Ukrainian data, during the full nine months of fighting in Bakhmut, almost 23,000 “Wagnerians” were killed, the losses of the Defense Forces of Ukraine 7.5 times smaller.

We should add that as of the beginning of May, it was known that almost 26,000 Russian occupiers were fighting in the Bakhmut direction. According to the information of the Armed Forces, the losses of the enemy are about here constitute an average of 100 people.
