German generals visited Kyiv on the day of the resignation of Commander-in-Chief Valery Zaluzhny.

To the publication’s request to the Ministry of Defense of Germany, they answered that Major General Christian Freuding and Inspector General of the Bundeswehr Carsten Breuer are in Ukraine.
Among them, Christian Freuding heads the working group on the coordination of aid to Ukraine under the German Ministry of Defense. Carsten Breuer is one of the main military commanders of the Federal Republic of Germany and a confidant of the Minister of Defense.
“They arrived in Kyiv secretly at the invitation of Valery Zaluzhny, head of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, on Thursday afternoon, Volodymyr Zelenskyi dismissed him,” BILD writes.
The German Ministry of Defense stated that the purpose of the visit was “further exchange of information on current defense needs and future military challenges.”
As BILD columnist Hagen Meir writes, the visit can speed up negotiations on military cooperation between Berlin and Kyiv.
On February 10, the German newspaper WELT am SONNTAG published an interview with Carsten Breuer, who said that the German army should be ready for war in five years.
“For this, first of all, such an intention is needed. I see it in Putin, judging by what he says and writes, as well as regarding his actions in Ukraine… We saw that Russia switched to a military economy by the decision of the State Duma. So their potential is now growing.” , – said Breuer about a possible conflict between Russia and NATO.
