To be initiated, the file must receive before the end of the year the green light from the board of directors of the Mulliez family, owner of Auchan. This investment project, at a very high level (as much as the amount planned by Vinci Autoroutes for the western Montpellier road bypass!), is justified by the degraded state of the hypermarket, built 50 years ago. The commercial surface should be divided by two, and brought up to standard (in particular for energy savings), without loss of jobs and keeping the drive part. The construction, on the current car park, of housing, shops and offices would also be studied, to make the whole profitable and correspond to the objectives of change in the sector.
