A man is in police custody, suspected of having killed his partner, whose body was found in a Roma camp in the city of Fresnes (Val-de-Marne) ravaged during the night by a fire, said Wednesday the Créteil public prosecutor’s office and the firefighters, requested by AFP.
The firefighters intervened Tuesday evening around midnight in a precarious installation camp where a fire was ravaging forty barracks, near a motorway interchange.
Thirty trucks and between 70 and 100 firefighters were deployed. The fire was brought under control after more than two and a half hours of intervention and 150 people were evacuated.
During the night, the lifeless body of a 39-year-old woman was also found in this camp.
His companion, a 33-year-old man, was in police custody Wednesday morning, said the Créteil prosecutor’s office, confirming information from the Parisian.
An investigation of the counts of murder by spouse, voluntary destruction by fire and modification of the inventory of a crime or an offense to obstruct the manifestation of the truth has been opened and entrusted to the judicial police of Val -de-Marne.
