bonelab, an upcoming VR action game, has revealed all-new gameplay in a lengthy preview of its unique features and mechanics. The preview also announced that bonelab will be available on September 29, 2022. You can watch the new in-depth look at the game on YouTube here:
bonelab was developed and published by Stress Level Zero. It’s the same team behind the surprise success boneworks, which similarly utilized weird physics, mysterious elements, and a technological plot. It also received huge praise from fans, both for the gameplay and its innovation.
And while this game was released as early as 2019, it’s immediately apparent from today’s preview that the developers haven’t lost their love for VR, still determined to push its limits in creative and satisfying ways. Even smaller mechanics, such as auto-touch alignment between you and the game avatar, are very impressive.
The reason bonelab looks so promising, based on the footage shown today, is that Stress Level Zero understood that VR features should, above all else, bolster a good game. bonelab looks just as unique and exciting as previous titles from the studio. The physical weapons look really fun to use, and the story has a unique freedom even with some of its familiar themes.
It’s a bit odd that the release date was only confirmed today, a week after launch. This could make it difficult to find new players. This can be quite damaging for the VR arena, which is already a niche crowd.
But the existing audience is sure to eat this. It was also a smart move to hear from the artists themselves, as their heartfelt passion is quite contagious.
