HONOLULU (KHON2) – Honolulu Ocean Safety rescued a father and 12-year-old son outside of Kahana Bay. Their 10ft boat lost power and they ran aground.
The 911 distress call came in at 5.30pm and lifeguards at ‘Ehukai Beach Park on the North Shore came to the rescue.

Once rescuers arrived, they deployed their jet skis and located the stranded duo drifting nearly a mile offshore, according to HOS.

HOS said that within an hour of the initial 911 call, rescuers had attached the boat to their jet skis and brought the father and son to safety.
Both men were uninjured and were wearing life jackets, according to HOS.
