Before buying one of these machines, be sure to check the dimensions of the product itself and compare them to the height of the desk you plan to place it under to make sure it will fit.
Design and weight
It is important to pay attention to the design of a bicycle under the desk. “One of the biggest complaints I hear from patients is that the structure is flimsy or the machine moves a lot when they place their feet,” says Malpelli. Look to see if the machine comes with a skid pad, tie down strap, or choose one that weighs more to hold it in place.
Also, if you’re looking to use the bike for both lower and upper body workouts, be sure to buy one that can do both. “Also make sure you position the machine correctly, otherwise you’ll just be reinforcing poor posture,” says Malpelli.
Noise level
Under-desk bikes are a good option for those who sit at a desk all day. But if you plan to use the machine while you work, especially when taking phone calls, you need to make sure you choose one that isn’t too noisy. Otherwise, you risk buying it and not using it if the noise level is loud and annoying.
