You are welcome say goodbye to reporter CJ as he descends the ladder of the RPS treehouse one last time, if you haven’t already. Then come back and tell us all what you’re playing this weekend. Here’s what we’re clicking on!

This weekend I will mainly play Speak which gets both more interesting and more boring in equal parts the longer I play it. It’s a circumstance in which I don’t think I’ve been in a game before. Moreover, it is not awkward in your way of thinking. Revise next week.

A new surprise game from Tango Gameworks? Let’s go, Hi-Fi Rush!

GoldenEye 007 for the rest of the time. Goodbye everyone!

After a brilliant – but tiring – trip to Berlin, I plan to recharge my mental batteries this weekend. It will involve sinking into my couch and diving into Persona 5: Royal. That’s all, that’s all I do.

I downloaded Hi-Fi Rush earlier this week using Game Pass, and I can’t put it down. I’m not good at staying on pace, but I like his approach of rewarding me when I’m successful, rather than punishing me when I’m wrong. I will also continue to snack Age Of Empires 2: Definitive Edition, in which I now begin to challenge the AI hard. I do not know earn, but I give them a good run. Oh, and I’m still reeling from the reveal of Critical Role’s Mighty Nein animated series, so I’ll probably cry about it at some point.

A friend just gave me The center of entropy, which was very nice of them. Good timing too – Portal with RTX recently reignited my interest in first-person puzzle games with comedy elements where you use a science gun to progress through test chambers.

Playing the Dune board game last weekend took way longer than expected (7 hours!), so I didn’t have much time to finish Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order after all. So that’s the task for this weekend once again. I enjoyed parrying the galaxy with old Cal, even though I still can’t parry for my life. I might also, for the good old days, give old GoldenEye a try on Xbox’s cloud beta. I’m almost embarrassed by how quickly my N64 muscle memory returned when I tried the first level on the barrage yesterday, but it’s holding up pretty well so far!

Tango Gameworks launched a new game this week? By surprise? And it’s a rhythm hack ‘n slash? Cancel all my plans. My weekend is all about Hi-Fi Rush and Hi-Fi Rush alone.

I recently fell in love with a wonderful game called songs of conquest, and have played the campaign non-stop for the past two days. I’m sure others have better comparisons, but this mostly reminds me of The Battle For Wesnoth, another pixel art turn-based strategy game I played a lot growing up. However, Songs Of Conquest seems a bit harder than Wesnoth so far. Or maybe I’m just a piece of shit. We’ll see.

is bad!

Operation: Completing some games is going pretty well, and I’m now tasked with choosing what to focus on next. strange horticulture or Ghostwire: Tokyo? Both were among my GOTYs last year, so it’s a tough decision. Although to be fair, I think I need to be less than an hour from the end of Strange Horticulture and maybe halfway through Ghostwire’s open-world exploration marathon, so maybe I should d first stick to the easy wins. And of course there is still Repentance ticking in the background.
But you, dear reader, what are you playing this weekend?
