Thunder Punch is a solid physical attack that can complement various Pokemon build types. It’s the Thunderbolt for those who don’t have high Sp. Atk. Many fighting types and those who use their fists can use this move, so it can be indispensable. That’s all you need to know about Thunder Punch and how to acquire it in Pokemon scarlet and violet.
Where to find the Thunder Punch TM in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Thunder Punch becomes available after defeating Team Star Boss, Atticus. He is the third boss you should face when you take the path to Starfall Street. His team will be made up of different poison-type Pokémon, so make sure you bring good ground and psychic-types to counter him.
You receive a bunch of various TMs when you take the Starfall Street path, so it would be wise to take this alongside the Path of Legends and Victory Road scenarios. At the end of your game, a good portion of your bag will contain valuable TMs that you can then spawn in a Poke Center.
Thunder Punch Crafting Requirements
Once you receive your first Thunder Punch TM after defeating Star Team Atticus, you can craft additional copies. Here are the materials to use:
- 5000 PL
- 3 Toxel Sparks
- 3 units of Meditite Sweat
You can score a lot of LP while playing through the story, so you’ll be sitting on a fair amount. As for the Toxel Sparks, try looking around areas 4 and 6 of the Southern Province. You can also earn this material by defeating or capturing Toxtricitys. They can be reliably found in the Alfornada Cavern, similar to where you can find Bagon and Shelgon.
As for the Mediite Sweat, you can also find them and their evolutions in the same place. Close the place up a bit to store a few extra units so you can keep a few to spare. The extra units can be exchanged for the TM machine to get extra LP!
Pokemon scarlet and violet are now available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
