A grandiose animated projection with the symbols of Ukraine was shown in Chicago
In 1922 Nikolai Leontovich’s “Shchedryk” was performed for the first time in the USA. This happened during the tour of the Alexander Koshyts choir.
The melody fell in love with people on both sides of the Atlantic and became one of the symbols of Christmas.
Since then, for a hundred years now, Americans have been singing the Carol of the Bells anthem, even, perhaps, not knowing about its Ukrainian origin.
But these days, the Ukrainian “Shchedryk” sounded again in the United States.
