19 captured “L/DPR” activists will appear in court.
They were informed of the suspicion of having committed particularly serious crimes.
Enemy army soldiers were captured in the Kharkiv region during a counteroffensive. Among them are former prisoners who at one time served real time for criminal offenses, including murder. After their imprisonment, they remained in the temporarily occupied areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. A few days before the full-scale invasion, the men agreed to join the Russian forces.
“They voluntarily went to the local ‘military commissars’ and ‘enlisted’ in the ranks of the occupation groups within the framework of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation. Together with the Russian invaders, they fought against Ukrainian troops in the directions of Donetsk and Luhansk,” the SBU press service said.

Initially, these volunteers equipped the combat positions and fortifications of the aggressor, then they were transferred to the Kharkiv region, where they were supposed to cover the escape of the main Russian units during the counteroffensive of the armed forces.
The detainees were charged with three crimes: treason, participation in a terrorist organization and participation in the activities of armed groups not provided for by law. Work is underway to prepare and transfer the relevant documents to the court.
