Another 12 Ukrainians were freed from Russian captivity — UNIAN

Among them – four soldiers of the Navy, two national guardsmen, two border guards, one from TRo, as well as three civilians – a spouse and a husband who was considered missing.

Another 12 Ukrainians were freed from Russian captivity, the head of the President’s Office informs Andriy Yermak.

“Another exchange of prisoners. We managed to free 12 of our people. Among them – 4 soldiers of the Navy, two national guardsmen, border guards, one from TRo, as well as three civilians – a spouse and a man who was considered missing. Among the military – two officers, as well as seven privates and sergeants”, – noted he.

According to Yermak, the soldiers who defended Mariupol, the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant and the Snake Island are returning home.

“Over the last week, we managed to return 98 Ukrainians. We are working on the release of all our people. We are not stopping,” the head of the OP emphasized.

Exchange of prisoners – what is known

As UNIAN reported, on November 24 from Russian captivity another 50 Ukrainian soldiers were returned. Among them – 20 National Guardsmen, 12 guys from the Navy, 10 soldiers of the Armed Forces, 6 – DPSU, 2 from TRo.

November 23 another exchange of prisoners took place: 35 Ukrainian soldiers and one civilian returned home. Among those released were servicemen who defended Mariupol on Azovstal, as well as national guardsmen who were captured by the occupiers at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in the first days of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

On October 17, it became known about the return from captivity 108 Ukrainian women. It was the first all-female exchange.

As noted Volodymyr Zelenskyi, Ukraine seeks to organize an exchange in the format “all for all”.
