Biden received a negative result of the test for COVID-19 — World —

The American leader has finally tested negative for COVID-19, but will still be in isolation.

US President Joe Biden, who has been ill with a coronavirus infection for the second time since July 21, received a negative test result for COVID-19.

This was reported by White House physician Kevin O’Connor on Saturday, August 6, Reuters reports.

As a precaution, the 79-year-old Biden will remain in isolation until a second test returns the same negative result.

The US president came out of isolation at the White House on July 27 after testing positive for COVID-19 for the first time on July 21. He tested positive again on July 30, in what Dr. O’Connor called a “rebound” case seen in a small percentage of people taking the antiviral drug Paxlovid.

Due to illness, Biden has been unable to travel or participate in public events, although he stepped out in public this week, notably to announce the killing of al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri.

White House press secretary Karin Jean-Pierre informed reporters about the president’s well-being.

“Everything is fine with him. He has this morning [Байдена] the test was negative, so yay! He is doing very, very well,” she said.

Biden suffered from mild symptoms, including body aches and a cough.

It will be recalled that previously US President Joe Biden tested positive for COVID-19 five days in a row.
