The German federal government has “gave the green light” to the re-export of 187 Leopard 1 battle tanks for the needs of the armed forces.

According to the publication’s sources, the government will release official data as early as Tuesday. However, in the coming weeks, politicians will still debate the question of funding for the repair of old equipment.
Moreover, German government circles are still saying that they will be able to send the first Leopard 1 to Ukraine no earlier than the middle of this year.
It is also unclear whether all 187 Leopard 1s will eventually be operational or whether many machines will need to be used as spares.
