Ukraine will receive 14 drones ground apparatus THeMIS. The corresponding contract was signed by Milrem Robotics, a developer of robotics and autonomous systems, and the German defense holding Krauss-Maffei Wegmann.
It is noted that half of the drones will be delivered by the end of this year. They are designed to evacuate the wounded.
“The remaining seven, to be delivered in the second quarter of 2023, will be routed with a payload from French defense equipment manufacturer CNIM Systèmes Industriels,” it said. message press service of the Estonian company.
At the same time, it is stated that the purchase is financed by the German Ministry of Defense.
“Evacuating the wounded and clearing a route are two time-consuming activities that require the involvement of several people who remain under constant threat of enemy fire. Automating these tasks with unmanned vehicles reduces this danger and allows more troops to remain in a safe area or perform more important tasks”, – said the director of defense research and development of Milrem Robotics Yuri Payuste.

Unmanned armored personnel carriers from Milrem Robotics are a multi-purpose tracked vehicle. They are equipped with cameras that allow you to check dangerous areas. Drones are controlled using a remote control. THeMIS can reach speeds of up to 25 km/h.
