After arriving in Paris, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said he was grateful for the spontaneous idea to meet and talk.
He announced this at a joint press conference with the president Emmanuel Macron of France and Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz– writes CNN.
“France and Germany have the potential to change the rules of the game,” Zelenskyy said in his opening remarks, adding that “the sooner Ukraine can get long-range weapons and modern aircraft, the stronger our coalitions will be.”
Scholz said that Germany will continue to provide military aid to Ukraine “as much as it needs”.
“Russia should not win this war,” Scholz said.
He said that Zelensky is going to the EU summit on Thursday, February 9 in Brussels, Belgium and will be a strong signal of solidarity.
Earlier, the mass media reported that French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his support for Ukraine in building a just peace.
“Ukraine can count on us to build peace. The plan you proposed is the basis for discussions on the path that should lead us to an international peace conference,” Macron noted.
We will remind that today President Volodymyr Zelenskyi is on an official visit visited Britain. He called provide Ukraine with modern fighter jets and create a “coalition of aircraft”. Zelensky thanked Great Britain in advance for “powerful planes”.
