Hearn admitted that Lomachenko’s fight became the most unprofitable in his promotional career

The official poorly organized the title fight of the Ukrainian.

The head of the Matchroom Boxing promotion company, Eddie Hearn, spoke about his failed fight, which he prepared as a promoter.

According to the official, the fight of the Ukrainian former world champion in three weight categories, Vasyl Lomachenko, against the British Luke Campbell, was the most damaging for him.

“The biggest loss is the fight between Vasyl Lomachenko and Luke Campbell. It was my personal failure. I made a mistake because I followed my feelings as a fan. It should have been a huge event. Lomachenko is number one regardless of category. British boxing fans adore him .

We packed the whole O2 arena but the pay TV ratings were low and I lost a lot of money. Bob Arum came in and cashed in on what I lost – it hurt me a lot. It was a difficult night.

Hearn talked about his most successful fight, which he organized.

“Joshua vs. Ruiz rematch. Joshua raised a lot of money that night, as did we. But if you think about sports, he never once in the hall or in the ring asked how much we could make. We got paid after the fact. The money never were the goal. The goal was to win,” Hearn said on the podcast BoxOffice.

We will remind, in 2019, Lomachenko defeated Campbell by a unanimous decision of the judges.
