
The Federal Council of Switzerland adopted a decision on new conditions regarding the arms embargo, and allowed the re-export of some types of Swiss military equipment to Ukraine from other countries.

“Switzerland can now exempt from the arms embargo the supply of demining equipment to Ukraine on a case-by-case basis. When issuing an export license, steps will be taken to ensure that the material is used legally and for its intended purpose,” the message reads.
Also, on January 25, the Federal Council decided to introduce additional sanctions against the Russian Federation, supporting the latest measures introduced by the European Union as part of the ninth package of sanctions.
These include bans on services in the field of product testing, advertising, market research and public opinion polling services, as well as new control measures and restrictions on the export of various goods, in particular dual-use goods, goods for military and technological improvement or for the development of defense industrial complex or goods contributing to the development of Russia’s industrial potential, in addition, the ban on the export of goods for the aerospace industry will be extended to engines for aircraft and drones. Similarly, new investments in the Russian mining sector will be prohibited.
