President of Turkey Recep Erdogan cynically uses his Russian colleague Vladimir Putin, and he “takes” all baits.

This opinion was expressed by the Russian publicist and political expert Andriy Piontkovsky 24 channels. This is how he commented on Putin’s last meeting with Erdogan in Sochi.

According to the publicist, Erdogan is a strong politician and has “imperial designs”, just like Putin.

“Only he does not want “Russian peace”, but wants to restore the Otaman Empire,” Piontkovsky noted.

He expressed his belief that the Turkish president understands Putin’s difficult situation and his need for support. In the world now, says the expert, there is not a single politician who is ready to take responsibility for the ceasefire initiative in Ukraine.

“Ukraine will refuse to sign any ceasefire agreements and Erdogan understands this. Putin’s desperate situation shows that he also understands this, but wants to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Erdogan is using Putin in a cynical way,” Piontkovsky believes.

In his opinion, Erdogan is also seeking from Putin to betray allies in several directions. As an example, he cites the occupation of positions of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh by the Azerbaijani army. He claims that Erdogan’s forces are now practically opposed to Putin’s forces, and they are not even reacting to the enemy’s actions.

As a convinced publicist, Erdogan “sold” Putin “air”, promising to help negotiate peace with Ukraine, and for this, the Russian Federation allegedly will not react to the seizure of territories in Armenia’s war with Azerbaijan.

It will be recalled that Erdogan and Putin met in Sochi on August 5. According to the Russians, the president of Turkey agreed partially pay for Russian gas in rubles.

Later, Erdogan said that again offered Putin to meet with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi. According to him, it is now important to effectively implement the plan and transform the positive atmosphere into concrete steps before returning to negotiations in Istanbul.

After the negotiations, the first assistant of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Fahrettin Altun statedthat the world “cannot end the war in Ukraine by ignoring Russia.”
