Representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency visited all Ukrainian nuclear power plants to provide staff with support and assistance.
IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said this reported in the Twitter microblogging service, where he published a video appeal.
“Recently, Ukraine called on the IAEA to provide, as was the case with the Zaporizhzhya NPP, support and assistance on the ground – at the Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, South Ukrainian, and Chornobyl NPPs. This support has begun. We must do everything to prevent a nuclear incident at all Ukrainian NPPs.” , – remarked Grossi.
He added that IAEA experts have been at the ZNPP since September 2022, providing support and assistance to the station’s staff. The official is convinced that progress is already visible in the creation of a physical and nuclear safety zone around this NPP.
“But at a time when the world is focused on the dangerous situation at the Zaporizhzhya NPP, the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, we should not forget about the country’s other nuclear facilities,” Grossi summarized.
Currently, the power units are operating in project mode, without generation into the power system. The radiation background at the NPP sites and adjacent territories has not changed, all indicators are normal.
