Intelligence reports that the Russians mined a number of objects in Donetsk

According to the Ministry of Defense, the Russians plan to blow up mines in Donetsk to destabilize the situation in the temporarily occupied territories and create grounds for accusing Ukraine of terrorist attacks.

The scouts urged Donetsk residents not to leave their homes and not to use public transport.

Exacerbation in the Donbass

The Russians have been massing for the second day fired Ukrainian positions in the Donbas, using mostly weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements. Due to numerous shellings, Ukraine even convened an emergency meeting of the TCG, but Russia refused to participate.

Only on February 17 under Russian shelling got 22 settlements, in particular a kindergarten in Stanytsia Luhanska, where two workers were injured as a result of a shell hit, and a school in Vrubivka. In general, the Russians violated ceasefire 60 times.

Already on February 18 leaders of “L / DNR” announced about the beginning of mass evacuation of the population from the occupied part of Donbass to Russia because of allegedly «Ukraine’s plans to launch an offensive operation». In response, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny assured Ukrainians living in the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk that Ukraine is not preparing an offensive. He urged not to trust the occupiers, as they deliberately use the population to escalate.
