The occupiers plan to hold a pseudo-referendum in Melitopolgoing around the houses accompanied by machine gunners and representatives of the FSB of the Russian Federation.

This was announced by Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov during the All-Ukrainian telethon.

According to him, earlier the occupiers wanted to hold a “referendum” in one day, but their plans failed, so now they will increase the pressure on the population.

“Today they have already changed their plans and want to hold their “referendum” for 7 days, … not to hold it in a traditional democratic way, but only with the help of “house elders” who will go around the apartments and interview the residents. But accompanied by machine guns and police officers or the FSB of the Russian Federation,” Fedorov said.

He thanked the residents, because after the first “tour” of the apartments, support for Russian aggression does not exceed 10%.

“We clearly understand that they want to draw in 7 days the figure that their political puppeteers want to see,” the mayor explained.

As UNIAN reported, at the end of July Fedorov notedthat the occupiers are preparing a pseudo-referendum on the accession of Melitopol to Russia, although more than 60% of its residents have already left the city.

He called on local residents to inform about “house elders” and “neighbors” who conduct “social polls” regarding the pseudo-referendum on joining Russia.
