American singer and actress Barbra Streisand joined the national fundraising platform UNITED24.
A world star Barbra Streisand declared her readiness to help Ukrainians and met the president for the first time Volodymyr Zelenskyi during an online meeting. From now on, the American singer will collect funds for urgent medical needs in Ukraine.
“I had a wonderful conversation with the President of Ukraine Zelenskyi. I was moved by the resilience and courage of the Ukrainian people and their inspirational leadership. I am very pleased to join President Zelenskyi and his United24 initiative,” Barbra wrote on Instagram.
In her social networks, the singer called on all her fans to participate in fundraising by their own example. Streisand has already donated a significant amount to Ukrainians.
“Join and support U24. With a tax-deductible subscription of $24 per month, you can help support the work of Ukrainian doctors and save more lives. Now they need us more than ever. My lucky number is 24, so I gave 24 thousand dollars,” the artist urged her fans.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyi also commented on the online meeting with the star and thanked Barbra for her support.
“The world may get a little tired of thinking about Ukraine every day, but the communities in the US and European countries continue to support and help us. It is very important for us that such talented and famous people in the world support the UNITED24 platform,” the leader of Ukraine wrote.
