The Ukrainian boxer must set a task to return to professional boxing.
The head of the Matchroom Boxing promotion company Eddie Hearn shared his opinion about the possible return of the former heavyweight world champion Wladimir Klitschko.
According to the official, he had a conversation with the legendary Ukrainian on this topic.
“I discussed it with him about two years ago. Is a comeback possible? I think yes, he can still prove himself at heavyweight and prove himself well. It’s a matter of motivation that you can still fight young and hungry guys.”
Hearn shared memories of Klitschko’s defeat by Joshua.
“When Klitschko fought Joshua, he came face-to-face with a young lion who was nowhere near as good as the Ukrainian. He had no experience, but he just didn’t give up, and Wladimir didn’t feel hungry then. He I thought that this was the last fight and I had to give it my all.
The specialist noted the level of the heavyweight division.
“You miss that feeling, but you don’t need the fights anymore. And if you don’t need boxing because of the money or the rivalry, then you should stay away, especially if it’s a heavyweight. There will be young and hungry lions who can tear you apart.” Hearn said on the podcast BoxOffice.
It should be noted that Klitschko can break the record of Forman, who at the age of 45 won the championship belt, becoming the age-old world champion in super heavyweight.
It will be recalled that Wladimir Klitschko fought his last fight in 2017, losing to Anthony Joshua in the championship match.
