Russia is preparing for the maximum escalation of the war in the near future, the hardest battles are ahead.
This was stated by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov in an interview Sky Newsreports Ukrinform.
“Russia is preparing for maximum escalation. She collects everything she can, conducts training and training… I can say that we do not rule out any scenarios in the next two or three weeks,” said Danilov.
He also did not rule out that Russian President Vladimir Putin will try to attack Ukraine again from the north, south and east, as he did on February 24, 2022, perhaps even on the anniversary of the invasion.
At the same time, the secretary NSDO emphasized that Ukrainian defenders are preparing for everything, and Western allies now support Ukraine much more strongly than a year ago.
According to him, it is expected that about half of the more than 320,000 mobilized soldiers will be involved in a new large-scale Russian offensive.
Danilov announced that the main battles of the war are yet to come.
“We have gone through a big difficult period, but I am sure that the main battles are still ahead, and they will take place this year within two or three months. These will be decisive months in the war,” he emphasized.
That is why Ukraine is asking its Western partners to send more weapons as soon as possible. In recent days, Kyiv has been insisting that the West hand over the fighter jets.
“It would be great if they were Typhoon fighters. F-16 will also do. Any help would be appropriate,” said the secretary NSDO.
As reported by Ukrinform, Ukraine seeks to obtain modern fighters – F-16 or F-15 of the US Air Force – or their European counterparts – German Tornado or Swedish Gripen – to replace its fleet of Soviet-era aircraft.
