The EU will launch a new platform, the main purpose of which will be to study disinformation from Russia and China.
This was announced by the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, informs Censor. NO with reference to LEAGUE.
According to Borrell, the anti-disinformation center will be created primarily to understand how disinformation companies are organized and to identify their participants in a timely manner.
Borrell also warned of a “new wave” of misinformation from fabricated images, videos and websites posing as mass media, spreading “five times faster than the speed of light on social media and messaging services”.
It will be a decentralized platform for sharing real-time information with non-governmental organizations, countries and cyber security agencies, according to one representative of the counter-disinformation center. This will make it possible to better understand new threats of disinformation and to take measures to solve such problems more quickly.
