American corporation Meta, the owner of social networks Facebook and Instagram, deleted a number of accounts that left pro-Russian comments.
The accounts were managed by an organization in St. Petersburg, Russia, which regularly hired “spammers, commentators, content analysts, designers and programmers.”
“The accounts published pro-Russian comments on the content shared by influential people of social networks and media companies, trying to create the impression of support for Russia. They were directed against politicians, journalists, actors and celebrities who showed strong support for Ukraine,” the report said.
A total of 45 Facebook accounts and 1,037 Instagram accounts were deleted.
We will remind, July 28 The Ministry of Digital has turned to Meta about hiding Ukrainian posts and blocking accounts.
