The ambassadors of the European Union approved the extension of all economic sanctions regarding the Russian Federation because of the war in Ukraine. The restrictions will remain in effect for at least another six months.
“The EU ambassadors officially gave the green light to the extension of all economic sanctions of the European Union against Russia for another six months”, – told the Brussels correspondent of “Radio Liberty” Rikard Jozwiak on Twitter.
It is noted that the decision also applies to sanctions that were introduced back in 2014.
Sanctions against Russia – what is known
The countries of the European Union already introduced nine packages of sanctions against the Russian Federation and do not plan to stop while Moscow tries to take over Ukraine.
