In addition to tanks, the list of assistance that is already provided is expanding. We are talking about air defense systems, heavy artillery, and anti-aircraft missiles.
Germany will expand military aid to Ukraine. This was stated by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz during a joint press conference with Prime Minister of Iceland Katrin Jakobsdóttir after their talks in Berlin on January 25, reports Ukrinform.
“The decision to hand over tanks is the right way, agreed upon in close coordination with partners. In addition to tanks, we are expanding the list of assistance that is already provided, in particular, we are talking about air defense systems, heavy artillery, MLRS, etc.,” Scholz noted.
The Prime Minister of Iceland welcomed Berlin’s decision.
She emphasized that, although Iceland does not have its own military capabilities, the state provides Ukraine with a lot of help, in particular, it accepts Ukrainian refugees, provides economic and humanitarian aid, and also transferred nine tons of warm clothes to Ukraine, including hand-made woolen pullovers.
