“You have to have more than just tanks. You have to have infantry and combat vehicles. You have to have engineers to reduce obstacles. You have to have artillery and other indirect fire support. You have to have anti-aircraft defenses to keep out enemy planes. All of this has to do with combine. But it is combined around main battle tanks,” Petraeus noted.
Now, according to him, Ukraine will have the best Western systems. This is a “very important” moment, he believes.
“Does this provide Ukraine with significant new opportunities? Rest assured that it does. Should the Russians be concerned about this? Absolutely,” the former CIA chief said.
