The famous Canadian actor Ryan Grantham was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his own mother.
Canadian actor Ryan Granthamknown for his role as Jeffrey Augustine in the series “Riverdale“, was sentenced to life imprisonment through killing his mother Barbara Waite.
The hearing in this case took place last Wednesday, September 21, in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, Canada. As you know, Grantham pleaded guilty to the death of his own mother six months ago. The murder happened in 2020, writes TMZ.
Prosecutors say Grantham shot his mother in the back of the head while she was playing the piano at home. In court, the artist told how exactly he committed the murder, and even showed a video taken a few hours after the murder, in which he confesses to the murder and shows the dead body of his mother.
The day after his mother’s murder, he loaded his car with guns, ammunition, Molotov cocktails and directions to the Rideau cottage where Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau lived.
Detectives investigating the case say Grantham later confessed to trying to kill Trudeau and wrote about his goal in a journal.
Under the terms of his sentence, Grantham will not be eligible for parole during the first 14 years of his sentence.
