Mobilization in Russia is similar to a gathering of reservists with live fire, the expert believes.
Military expert, reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Roman Svitan said that within a month the Russian Federation will be able to prepare for mobilization a maximum of 100,000 people.
That’s what he’s about reported on the air of the information telethon.
According to him, the mobilization in the Russian Federation is more similar to the gathering of reservists with live fire, since martial law has not been declared.
“The maximum they will be able to prepare within a month is 100,000 people. That is, this movement that we see is more of a media one. The wave, as such, will not be big. They will gradually restore them. The first reservists that we see now are going there by buses, they will come to our front at least in a month, not earlier,” the expert said.
He also noted that there will most likely be several waves of 100,000 in the Russian Federation in one and a half to two months.
Mobilization in Russia – what you need to know
As reported by UNIAN, on September 21, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin announced the mobilization of Russian military personnel, which are in stock. Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Serhiy Shoigu said that about 300,000 people plan to mobilize.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine predicts that during the first wave of mobilization in Russia, about 40,000-50,000 reservists may be called up, since there simply will not be enough equipment for a larger number.
British intelligence believes that Russia will have to solve logistical and administrative problems to gather 300,000 troops, who are unlikely to become combat-ready for months. Experts note that even this limited mobilization will be very unpopular among part of the Russian population, and Putin takes considerable political risk in the hope of building the necessary combat power. It is also emphasized that this step is actually an admission that Russia has exhausted the supply of volunteers who are ready to fight in Ukraine.
The “Nova Gazeta. Europe” publication, citing a source in Putin’s administration, reported that the classified clause of the decree on mobilization allows the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation to mobilize 1 million people.
