A vote in parliament on the extension of martial law will take place in the near future
Draft laws on the extension of martial law and general mobilization were supported unanimously.
The Verkhovna Rada’s Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence approved draft laws No. 8419/8420 on presidential decrees on extending the terms of martial law and general mobilization. People’s deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported this in Telegram on Monday, February 6.
According to him, draft laws were supported unanimously.
“This is not the final stage. There is still a vote in the parliament, which will take place in the near future,” said the People’s Deputy.
Zheleznyak added that this will be the sixth vote of the Council for martial law since the beginning of the war. Prior to this, deputies had already adopted similar decisions: on February 24, March 15, April 21, August 15, and November 16.
Earlier on Monday, it became known that President Volodymyr Zelenskyi introduced to the parliament draft laws on the approval of decrees on extending the term of martial law and extending the term of general mobilization.
We will remind you that on the morning of February 24, 2022, Ukraine introduced martial law for the first time after a full-scale attack by the Russian army.
