The expert says it’s important to look for any opportunity to provide routine care. However, when this is impossible, you need to find alternative ways out of the situation.
The hairdresser talked about how to take care of hair during long-term power and water outages.
If there is access to water, then the hair should be washed with the frequency required by the condition of the scalp. For example, if the scalp is oily, then it should be done about every other day, if it is dry – once every 3-4 days. Combined skin type requires washing on average once every 2-3 days.
If there is no access to water supply, then you can use dry shampoo. However, if you use it too often, your head will itch. That is why it is important to wash off dry shampoo from time to time.
Hydration and nutrition
During power and water outages, it is not always possible to think about leaving, but it is important to use conditioner and masks at least once every 2-4 head washes.
If there are no care products at hand, you can use natural products: chicken egg, sour cream, honey. A small amount of these products (one of them) should be applied to the ends to nourish them.
If it is not possible to dry the hair with a hair dryer, it is important to thoroughly dry it with a towel, and then dry it naturally. The hairdresser recommends not to go outside with a wet or damp head, as this can make you sick. But this is not the only reason, because hair is very damaged in the cold.
Separately, the expert advises not to go outside without a hat during cold weather, and to hide curls under clothes.
